Win a VIP trip for two to the British Grand Prix

ferrari logo Win a VIP trip for two to the British Grand PrixMy wife asked me what I would like for Father’s Day back in the spring time of last year. It was my first father’s day, so I wanted to cash in on her enthusiasm.

“A Ferrari”

I replied optimistically, which, as you would guess was met with an eye roll and her mouthing what looked like the word ‘knob’.

We settled for a Ferrari experience at Silverstone – the home of the British Grand Prix.

It took me a while to book, but by November I was looking forward to my experience in early December. Thinking back now, I remember fantasising about roaring round Copse at break necking pace, and being asked to race professionally and putting my new-found and considerable talent to good use.

It didn’t quite work out like that.

With only three laps in the experience, I was hard pressed to get the most out of the Ferrari, and it was over in the blink of an eye.

After the final lap, I tried hard not to look glum, but both my wife and I felt a little disappointed that I was unable to open it up a bit. Still… I probably won’t sit in a Ferrari again, not out of choice, but simply because my bank account doesn’t match the brand.

So, about these British Grand Prix tickets…

rush title image Win a VIP trip for two to the British Grand PrixMy point is this. For race enthusiast dads, a spin round a famous race track is great, but perhaps there is something that tickles your fancy a little more?

How about, say, a VIP trip for two to the British Grand Prix?

I thought you would like it.

Courtesy of Sky, these tickets are available to win as they celebrate the film ‘RUSH’ being made available on the Sky Store.

For those of you not in the know, RUSH chronicles the 1970s F1 rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, culminating in the spectacular climax of the 1976 championship.

I was born in 1978, so I can’t speak of this infamous rivalry from personal experience, but having witnessed on television the tragic death of Ayrton Senna in 1994, I am in awe of the drivers taking on the breath-taking danger that 1970s Formula 1 racing was known for.

With Hunt and Lauda butting heads, F1 during this time was at its most electrifying, I am surprised this film wasn’t made earlier.

How do I get these tickets then?

rush tv image Win a VIP trip for two to the British Grand PrixWith RUSH coming onto our small screens, Sky are ceremoniously celebrating by giving away British Grand Prix tickets, plus a host of other fantastic prizes.

To enter the competition all you have to do is rent RUSH on Sky Store before 23 February, and you will automatically be entered into the draw. You can do that here.

You can find out more about the competition, and full details of the prizes here.

So why not treat the old man to a bit of F1 excitement, and Grand Prix history. Get him a beer, put the stool under his feet, and rent out RUSH… and who knows, perhaps you could be witnessing the next great F1 rivalry from the VIP box at Silverstone…
